Jerry Don Brasuel, Sr., 75, of Lindsborg, died Friday, May 20, 2022 at Bethany Home of Lindsborg, KS.  Jerry was born May 24, 1946 in Lubbock, TX to the late Troy and the late Janice (Hickman) Brasuel.  

Jerry was the husband of the late Anita (Cline) Brasuel.  Jerry attended the Assembly of God Church, and he worked as a structural iron worker.

He is survived by his son Jerry D. Brasuel, Jr. of Great Bend, KS; sister Janet Brock of Grand Junction, CO; brother Michael Brasuel (Rebecca) of Marble Falls, TX;  daughter-in-law Minnette Brasuel; as well as his grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife Anita; and son Brent Brasuel.

Cremation has been chosen and burial services will be held at a later date in Marble Falls, TX.

Eirving Eugene Rains, 80, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at 2:29 p.m., Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at his home. Eirv was born in Wallace, Kansas at his grandparents Locks' home, on July 22, 1941, a son to Mary Ruth (Lock) and Eldon Morris Rains. Eirv started grade school at Winona grade school, Winona, Kansas and finished grade school at Wallace, Kansas and graduated Wallace County Community High School, in Sharon Springs, Kansas in 1959. He honorably served in the U.S. Army as a SP4. He was stationed in Germany and with his mechanical abilities, he was put in charge of the motor pool. Eirving Eugene Rains was united in marriage to Navene Neva Grund on June 27, 1965 at the Baptist Church in Sharon Springs. The young couple established their first home together in Wallace. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, two sons and one daughter, Keith, Kent, and Kerry. In the fall of 1971 the family moved to Sharon Springs, until 1999 when they moved to McPherson, Kansas. Eirv grew up around his Uncle George Lock's gas station and mechanic shop where he learned mechanic skills and later became a mechanic for the Ford garage in Sharon Springs. After returning from the Army, Eirv went to work at the Cowles Motor Service in Sharon Springs for a couple years. He then decided to go to work for Navene's Uncle John Mather's auto parts store and gas station. After a couple years, John sold the business to Eirv and Navene in 1968. They owned and operated the business, employing many family members until 1999 when he retired and sold the business to a nephew, Chance Rains. During this time Eirv also served as mayor for 16 years, an EMT for 20 years, as the Wesleyan Church treasurer and worked on building projects, was a member of the Chamber of Commerce serving in many capacities, and served on the Board of Education, all of Sharon Springs. Eirv attended the First United Methodist Church in McPherson. Eirv enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cats. He was a perfectionist and could fix anything and loved things clean. He enjoyed playing cards, board games, golf, and loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks basketball. He enjoyed rides in the country and telling the history of Wallace County with his family. His grandkids loved when Grandad would get the golf cart out and he would give them all rides and teach them to drive. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of over 56 years, Navene Rains of McPherson; his children Keith Rains, and wife Teresa of Little River, Kent Rains and wife Suzanne of Lenexa, and Kerry Schrock and husband Sam of Kearney, Nebraska; his siblings Richard Rains of Wallace, Becky Vincent and husband Tony of Sharon Springs, George Rains and wife Debbie of Wallace, and Gerald Rains and his wife Shirley of Sharon Springs; his sister-in-law Maxine Atkinson and her husband Gene of Garden City, Kansas; his seven grandchildren, Marci Boltz and husband Luke, Bronson Rains, Abigail Rains, Ethan Rains, Piper Schrock, Kade Schrock, Kit Schrock; his five great-grandchildren, Laetyn Boltz, Raif Boltz, Steelie Boltz, Ramsey Boltz, and Bret Boltz; many nephews, nieces, other relatives, and a host of friends. Carolyn Julia (Eller) Harvey passed away peacefully at the Bethesda Home in Goessel, Kansas on May 20, 2022 at the age of 82. She was born November 13, 1939 to George LeRoy Eller and Hazel Irene (Proctor) Eller on a farm in Smith County, Kansas. She was the youngest of five children.

Carolyn attended school in Gaylord, Kansas and graduated from high school in 1957. Soon after graduation, she moved to Denver, Colorado to work as a clerk in a downtown Denver business.

While working in Denver, Carolyn met Loren Harvey while Loren and her brother, Paul Eller, were in training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. On June 14, 1959 they were married at the First Nazarene Church in Gaylord. The young couple established their home in Beloit, Kansas.

Carolyn and Loren were blessed with two sons, Leroy and Eric. Carolyn was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner during the early years of her sons’ lives.

In 1970, she was the lead census taker for Mitchell County, Kansas. After completing her tenure in this role, she provided daycare for other families in the family home. In 1980, she began as a substitute food service worker for USD 273 in Beloit, and was soon a full-time food service worker at Beloit Elementary School.

Carolyn loved reading, sewing clothes for her sons, cross stitching, canning vegetable from the family garden, making baby blankets for friends and family, doing puzzles, playing cards, and attending activities for Leroy and Eric. During her retirement, Carolyn enjoyed camping with friends, volunteering at the church, Mitchell County Hospital, and on the Mitchell County election board, and of course, attending the activities of her grandchildren as often as possible. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Beloit, the United Methodist Women, and the Order of the Eastern Star in Beloit and later in Clay Center.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Loren; son Leroy and wife Winsome of McPherson, Kansas; three grandchildren, Gavin, Collin, and Isabella; two sisters-in-law, Betty Eller and Elaine Eller; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Bernice and Blache; brothers Richard and Paul; and her son Eric.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26 at the Beloit First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.

Donna J. Pruitt, daughter of James H. Lewis and LoRee L. (Eliott) Lewis, was born February 19, 1927 at Newton, Kansas and passed away on October 15, 2021 at Republic County Hospital ISB, Belleville, Kansas at the age of 94.

After graduating from Belleville High School in 1945 and graduating from the University of Kansas, Donna worked for two years in interior design in Kansas City, Missouri.&nbsp; She was united in marriage to Melvin A. Pruitt on September 28, 1952.

After their marriage in 1952, Melvin and Donna lived in Corpus Christi, Texas for a year.&nbsp; She and her husband returned to Belleville where she worked for 40 years in the family automobile business, Jim Lewis Motors Inc.&nbsp; Donna retired in 1993.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents James and LoRee Lewis, brother Dr. James J. Lewis, and nephew Kelly Lewis.

She is survived by three nephews, Kirk (Jayne) Lewis of Fort Collins, CO, Keith Lewis of Wichita, KS, Bryan Lewis of Wichita, KS , other relatives and many friends.

Graveside inurnment services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, KS, conducted by Pastor Jacob Rice.

Melvin A. Pruitt, son of Archie C. Pruitt and Mayme (Ricks) Pruitt was born November 9, 1925 at Aransas Pass, Texas and passed away on October 25, 2021 at Republic County Hospital ISB, Belleville, Kansas at the age of 95.

He attended several schools in Texas and graduated from high school in Hawkins, Texas in 1943.&nbsp; He attended Texas A&amp;M University, where he served as a company commander in the Corps of Cadets and graduated in the class of 1947, serving as senior class president. He served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army 10th&nbsp;Mountain Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas.&nbsp; He was a graduate of the U.S. Armed Forces Information and Education School at Fort Slocum, NY.

He was united in marriage to Donna J. Lewis on September 28, 1952 and after their marriage the couple moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where Melvin was the sales manager for the Lincoln-Mercury dealership in Corpus Christi, Texas.&nbsp; In 1953 they moved to Belleville, Kansas to join his father-in-law, James H. Lewis, in a partnership to form Jim Lewis Motors Inc., Buick and Pontiac.&nbsp;&nbsp; Melvin retired in 1993 after 40 years in the automobile and mobile home business.

He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Mayme Pruitt, wife Donna J. Pruitt on October 15, 2021, brother in law Dr. James J. Lewis, and&nbsp; nephew Kelly Lewis.

He is survived by three nephews, Kirk (Jayne) Lewis of Fort Collins, CO, Keith Lewis of Wichita, KS, Bryan Lewis of Wichita, KS, other relatives and many friends.

Phyllis Loie (Woellhof) Hartner&nbsp;(Feb. 3, 1929 – May 18, 2022) died peacefully in her sleep in the early morning.&nbsp; Phyllis was born at home in Oak Hill, Kansas to Ezra and Grace (Ford) Woellhof, the middle and only girl of five children.&nbsp; She grew up on her family farm and graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1947.

Following the end of WWII, she caught the eye of a handsome local returning GI, and they soon became a couple.&nbsp; On Oct. 4, 1947, she married the love of her life, Roy Hartner, at her parents’ home, on the hottest day of the year.&nbsp; After a honeymoon trip through the Southwest, they settled in Clay County where they spent the next 18 years farming and growing their family.&nbsp; In 1965, they left farming and moved to Boulder, Colorado.

Away from the farming life, they had the opportunity to spend more time doing the things they loved.&nbsp; While Phyllis worked much of her life, often in jobs that showcased her excellent sewing skills, she and Roy spent many days hiking, camping and off-roading in the mountains around Boulder.&nbsp; Her love of travel was obvious to everyone who knew her.&nbsp; During their 67-year marriage, they traveled to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and Europe.&nbsp; In later years, they took off in their motorhome to travel around the U.S. helping build churches through the Laborers for Christ program of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.

While her church was very important to her, her family was the light of her life.&nbsp; After retirement, she and Roy moved to Loveland, CO in 1999 to be closer to their grandchildren.&nbsp; She was a doting grandma, always welcoming arrivals with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.&nbsp; Never one to sit around, she was always ready to lend a hand wherever needed.&nbsp; Her grandchildren will forever fondly remember her color-themed Christmas trees, her love of Precious Moments figurines and her signature “shh, shh, shh” whenever things got too loud. &nbsp;&nbsp;Two years after Roy’s death in 2015, she moved to Longmont, CO, where she spent her final days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gwain and Melvin, an infant brother, Richard, and her beloved husband, Roy.&nbsp; 

She is survived by her sons Rick (Rosemary) and Daryl Hartner, daughter Trudy (Mike) Loucks, grandchildren Marianne (Jeff) Hartner-Godown, Auliya McCauley-Hartner, Talia (Pete) Damrow, Hailey, Wilson and Joely Loucks, great-granddaughter Reina Damrow, brothers Truman (Leona) and Eldon Woellhof and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home on Mon. May 23 at 1:30 p.m. with internment following at Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.&nbsp;

Roberta M. Lenhart, 86, of Clay Center died Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor.&nbsp; She was born on December 24, 1935 in Brewster, Kansas the daughter of Bert Gallup and Agnes (Sprague-Hollenbeck) Gallup.

She grew up in Clay Center and graduated from CCCHS in 1954.&nbsp; Roberta then worked for Dr. Shepard and later she worked for Clay Center Family Physicians until her retirement.&nbsp;

 She married Ralph Dageforde on November 25, 1956 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1997.&nbsp; She then married Willard Lenhart on April 3, 1998.&nbsp; Roberta enjoyed playing golf and traveling with her husband around the U.S., Australia, Canada and Europe.

Roberta was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School and week day teacher.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Logan Dageforde and brother Bill Hollenbeck.

She is survived by her husband Willard Lenhart of Clay Center, Kansas; sons, David and wife, Carla Dageforde of Pratville, Alabama and Gregory and wife, Susan Dageforde of Tallassee, Alabama; stepsons Bill and wife Barb Lenhart of Clifton, Kansas, Walt Lenhart of Clifton, Kansas and Wayne and wife Diane Lenhart of Clay Center, Kansas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and her brother Lon and wife Mary Ann Gallup of Castle Rock, Colorado.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.&nbsp;

Martha was born on October 3, 1920, in Gypsum, KS, and passed away peacefully in beautiful, sunny Mesa, AZ at the age of 101 ½ on April 14, 2022.&nbsp; 

Martha married Glenn Henry Fransham on October 3, 1942, at the family farm in Gypsum, KS.&nbsp; 

Martha was a homemaker, co-builder alongside her husband Glenn, with the construction of their home in North Wichita (having never obtained a loan of any type), gardener (fondly remembered for her delicious raspberry jelly), seamstress, etc. When she went to work outside of the home she worked for J.M.McDonalds, J.C.Penney's, various housekeeping jobs and Valley Center Elementary School kitchen staff, until the age of 90.&nbsp; She was an active member of the Valley Center First United Methodist Church for over 65 years. 

Martha and Glenn were married for 48 years, and she lived in the home that they built together for 67 years.

Martha was preceded in death by her&nbsp;parents&nbsp;Charles and Martha (Mortimer) Spellman,&nbsp;brothers&nbsp;Rolla, Don and Paul Spellman,&nbsp;sister&nbsp;Alta Schwarz,&nbsp;husband&nbsp;Glenn Fransham,&nbsp;daughter&nbsp;Janet Emler,&nbsp;grand-daughter&nbsp;Nanette Emler,&nbsp;sons-in-law Jim Emler and Charles Kannady.

Martha is survived by her&nbsp;daughters&nbsp;Linda Kannady of Marion, KS/Mesa, AZ, Mellodie Stratman (Monte) of Marana, AZ and Jolene Roach (Jeff) of Edmond, OK; grandchildren&nbsp;Janelle Wilson, Dirk Kannady (Tonya), Eric Kannady (Lindsey), Dax Kannady (Emily), Marc Stratman (Oana), Matt Stratman, Melissa Vandiver (Matthew), Jennifer McCoy and Jason Roach (Kim); great-grandchildren&nbsp;Christina Wilson, Susie Tenbrink (Nick), J.T. Wilson, Rylie Kannady, Avery Kannady, Gage Kannady, Caleb Vandiver, Jonah Vandiver, Joshua McCoy, Isaiah McCoy, Lucas Roach and&nbsp;Liliana Roach; great-great-grandchild&nbsp;Rylynn DeMers Tenbrink; as well as a host of treasured nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends, neighbors, and acquaintances.

Martha's Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, 560 N. Quentin C. Smith, age 76, of Concordia, KS, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.&nbsp; He was born on July 22, 1945 in Canton, Ohio to Cyrillas “Cy” H. and Martha A. (Starkey) Smith and was raised on a dairy farm.

He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1963.&nbsp; He later graduated from Ohio State University and earned his master's degree in agricultural economics from Kansas State University.

He served in Korea as a captain in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971 and served in the U.S. National Guard with 16 years of service to his country.&nbsp; He was a former commander of the Concordia National Guard.

He married Christine Fuss on September 12, 1970 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Canton, Ohio.&nbsp; He and Christine moved to Concordia, KS in 1973 when he began working for Kansas State University Extension as a farm management fieldman.&nbsp; In 1983 he started Farm Management Services Inc. and worked as an accountant and tax adviser and recently completed his last tax season in 2022.

He was a member of The Baptist Church, Concordia, KS where he served in various capacities.&nbsp; He was a faithful member of the Concordia Rotary Club and Gideons International.

Quentin is survived by his wife Christine, Concordia, KS; sons Abe Smith (Arian), Kearney, NE, Ben Smith (Alissa), Olathe, KS and Josh Smith (Erin), Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren Elijah, Isaac, Lydia, Gavin, Ella, Liam, Harrison and Allie; brothers Dennis Smith (Jennifer), Navarre, OH and Myron Smith, Paris, OH; and sister Wilma Nelson (Bill), Gallatin, TN.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022 at The Baptist Church, Concordia, KS with Pastor Jonathan Peppers and Rev. Delores Della V. Streckfus, age 100, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Marquis Place, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was born on September 13, 1921 in Tescott, Kansas to Roy and Nora (Christianson) Armsbury.

Delores graduated from Tescott High School.&nbsp;&nbsp;She married Roy L. Streckfus on October 30, 1946 in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;They moved to Denver, Colorado in 1954.

She was a homemaker, and she also managed their apartment complex while in Denver.

Delores enjoyed taking care of her yard, loved shopping and was an excellent cook.&nbsp;&nbsp;In her later years Delores took up art and painted many pictures.

She is survived by her niece, Ann Nora Bittner (David), Hill Borough, NJ; three nephews Jerry Stenberg (Laura Lee), Clyde, KS; Tom Duoto (Vicki) and Mike Duoto (Dian) both of Houston, TX; many great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Streckfus, parents, Roy and Nora, her brother, Armand and his wife Elizabeth Armsbury.

A Family graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2022 in the Franklin Cemetery in Tescott, Kansas with Fr. Mark Wesley officiating.

Deb attended the Canandaigua schools and graduated from Canandaigua Academy in 1976, Canandaigua, New York. Deborah Anne Wells was united in marriage to Scott Andrew Clevenger on June 18, 1981 in Newark, New York. The young couple established their first home together in Newark, New York. This couple were blessed with four children, three sons and one daughter, Andrew, Andrea, Tim, and Travis. Deb was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She was the owner and operator of Debbie's Cleaning service for over 20 years in New York. In September of 2013 the family moved to McPherson and in 2014 she began working for U.S.D. 418 School District within the food service division. Deb was a member of T.A.P.S. Deb enjoyed spoiling her grandkids, cleaning, pedicures, Red Lobster, a connoisseur of soft ice cream, and loved her Buffalo Bills football team. John was born on December 17, 1954, in Steelville, Missouri, the son of John Howard Downing, Sr. and Alice Evelyn (Dixon) Downing.&nbsp; He attended Havre de Grace High School in Havre de Grace, Maryland. 

On July 17, 1982, John was united in marriage to Jean Lou Sporleder in Salina, KS.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Jean Downing; a son, John Downing, III (Mindy) of McPherson, KS; a daughter, Joy Gravitt (Scott) of Gypsum, KS; two sisters, Barbara Moore (Doug) of Slocomb, AL and Terry Pope of Salina, KS; five grandchildren, River Downing, Maleia Smith, Eli Downing, Mara Bellesine, and Karsen Downing; several nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

John was born on December 20, 1952, the son of Lester Elmer and Wilma Fern (Lewis) Moore.&nbsp; He graduated from Pawnee Rock High School in 1970 and attended Barton County Community College.&nbsp; 

On December 17, 1983, John was united in marriage to Priscilla Stegman in Lindsborg, KS.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Priscilla; two sons, Sean Moore (Whitney) of McPherson, KS and Will Moore (Jillian) of Manhattan, KS; four grandchildren, Cason Moore, Kinlee Moore, Elizabeth Moore, and Abigail Moore; three sisters, Vera Schmidt (Sandy) of Larned, KS, Linda Brack (Brian) of Otis, KS, and Wilda Daubert of Wichita, KS; two brothers, Jim Moore (Jayne) Burnett, TX and Chuck Moore (Janice) of Otis, KS; and many extended family and friends.

Dan’s life began on April 21, 1946, in Topeka. He was the son of Harvey John and Rose Irene (Morgan) Falen. 

Dan was a 1964 graduate of Hope High School, attended Kansas University and graduated from Kansas State University with an agricultural economics degree. He was a farm kid from the beginning and was a lifelong farmer and rancher in rural Hope until his death. 

Dan was united in marriage to the former Marcia Bezdek on April 24, 1971, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen, KS. 

He served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Dan was an avid reader and genealogist. He and Marcia archived hundreds of articles regarding friends, relatives, and community members. They often shared their archives with friends and family. Dan enjoyed photography and cheering for the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs when they played well. 

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marcia Falen of Hope; sister Jean (Von) Ervin of Laquey, MO.; nephew John West of Hope, nephew Greg (Pam) Holub of Lost Springs, great-nephew Gentri Holub of Lost Springs and Jerami Slayden and sister-in-law Paulette Holub. 

Dan passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, aunt Dr. Frances Falen and uncle Harry Falen. 

Dan’s family will gather with friends on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington from 2-4 p.m. with a rosary at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columba Catholic Church, Elmo. Dan will be laid to rest at a later date in St. Phillips Catholic Cemetery, Hope. 

Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to St. Columba Catholic Church or the Father Kapaun Legacy Fund.

<a href="https://www.chaputbuoy.com/obituary/loren-bowman"></a>Loren C. Bowman, age 92, of Clyde, KS, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS.&nbsp; He was born on June 25, 1929 in Republic County, KS to Edward and Nellie (Johnson) Bowman.

Loren grew up in the Clyde area and graduated from Agenda High School in 1948.&nbsp; He married Wanda Hicks on Sept. 6, 1949 in Hollis, KS.&nbsp; To this union five children were born, Larry, Marc, Doug, Peg and Steve.

Loren was a lifelong area farmer and rancher.&nbsp; During his retirement years Loren worked for Gallagher Plumbing in Clyde.

He was a former member of the Clyde United Methodist Church, and currently a member of the Agenda United Methodist Church.

Loren enjoyed rides in the country, working cattle, farm sales, playing cards, and working with his hands; he could fix anything.

He is survived by his sons Marc (Paulette), Topeka, KS, Doug (Liz), Montrose, CO and Steve (Nikki), Riley, KS; daughter Peg Feldt (Dan), Derby, KS; daughter-in-law Mary Bowman, Rural Agenda, KS; 12 grandchildren and 21 grea-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda; his parents; a son, Larry Bowman, and brothers Howard Bowman and Keith Bowman.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at The Branch, Clyde, Kansas, with Rev. Sang Hak Lee officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow the services at Hollis Cemetery, Hollis.

Visitation will be Monday, May 23, 2022 from 1-8 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.

Rosemary Griffis was born on May 27, 1928 at home west of Navarre, KS, the daughter of Harry and Maudie (Longhofer) Leckron. She grew up on the farm, her grade schools included Stony Hill #6, Eureka #89 school in Jefferson and Newbern townships just a few miles from her homes, and graduated from DCCHS in 1946. Rosemary worked briefly for Montgomery Wards and Southwestern Bell in Abilene. On November 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to Kenneth A. Griffis. They lived in Pasadena, California for a short time after WW II where she worked for Singer Sewing Machine Company.

Upon returning to Kansas in 1950, in the Belle Springs area where they made their home until 1967, when they moved to 1400 Ave. and this became their permanent home. She and Kenny farmed and he assisted her father with the thrashing until he retired and moved to Abilene. She was devoted to Kenny. She started working at the Navarre Co-op soon after returning from California. She retired after 35 years of service. She and Kenny enjoyed fishing at Milford Lake and their farm pond, and enjoyed many wonderful weekends during the spring and summer for 68 wonderful years together. Rosemary was a homemaker, an office professional, loved to garden, always planting tomatoes and cucumbers, and caring for her flowers, a fisherman, loved making crafts, she had a love of collecting dolls and plates with roses on them. She was a mother and grandmother figure to the children in the community always having a stash of Tootsie Rolls and bubblegum at the Co-op. She always kept her stash stocked, as many of the children just helped themselves when they came with mom or dad. She and Kenny traveled to Texas to their winter home and Oregon after her retirement. Together they loved traveling throughout the U.S. on land, by railway, on water, by barge and ship in their coach. Survivors include her sister-in-law Constance Griffis, Coquille OR, nieces and nephews Mike (Kristeen) McCollough, Lakeside CA, Melynne (McCollough) Fisher, Sherwood, AR, Jim (Linda) Griffis, Corvallis, OR, Jacque (Tom) Keeling, Eugene, OR, Nancy (Brian) Maxwell, Corvallis, OR, Sharon (Mitchell) Fick, Topeka, KS, and other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her kind, gentle loving spirit and sound advice often expressed through humor helped many people over the years.
