A vehicle that was stolen from a store parking lot on the west side of Salina Thursday night was recovered a few blocks away.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Friday that Gayla Nelson, 59, of Lindsborg, who works at Walgreens, 700 South Broadway Boulevard, had gone to her vehicle while on break at approximately 10:30 p.m. Thursday. While there, she left the keys to the 1998 Honda CRV in the vehicle’s cupholder, he said. When she completed her shift at midnight and went out to the parking lot, she discovered that the vehicle was missing, he said.
A short time later, an officer on patrol saw the vehicle a few blocks west on Crawford and pulled it over in the 1600 block of West Crawford, Forrester said. The person driving the Honda CRV was identified as Dannyel Sutton-Feldkamp, 40, of Salina, he said. Sutton-Feldkamp was arrested on suspicion of felony theft of a vehicle and driving while suspended, he said.
