KANSAS CITY, Mo. – As part of the NFL’s celebration of 100 seasons, the league is inviting fans, players, clubs and employees to join Huddle for 100, an effort to inspire one million people to volunteer 100 minutes of their time to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
To kick off the efforts locally, members of the Chiefs front office, the Chiefs Rookie Club, team executives, Kansas City Ambassadors, Chiefs Cheerleaders and Red Coaters, along with Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt will participate in the club’s Huddle for 100 at Lincoln College Preparatory Academy on Monday. While on-site, Chiefs staff will participate in landscaping projects around the school to beautify the grounds along with cleaning projects inside the school. The Rookie Club will help the Blue Tigers prep their helmets for the upcoming high school football season.
While the NFL celebrates its 100th season, the Chiefs are celebrating the franchise’s 60th season in 2019, and Lincoln College Prep’s proximity to the former site of the first home of the Chiefs in Kansas City – Municipal Stadium – made it the perfect location.
The NFL is driving a season-long club competition by awarding monthly community-focused prizes to top-ranking clubs based on volunteer minutes. Fans are encouraged to boost the Chiefs ranking by volunteering and logging their own minutes using the Chiefs Huddle for 100 hashtag, #ChiefsHuddleFor100.
All 32 clubs will host huddles throughout the year, addressing a wide variety of causes to bring together communities in the spirit of service. One community-focused grand prize at the end of the season will be awarded to the club with the most volunteer minutes.
Throughout the Huddle for 100 initiative, the league will give participating fans the chance to win a variety of prizes, including game tickets, team gear or a monetary donation to a charity they select when they track their participation on the Huddle for 100 website. Fans can also share their volunteer efforts on social media using both the #NFLHuddleFor100 and #Sweepstakes hashtags.
