KANOPOLIS LAKE — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced that Venango Beach at Kanopolis Lake is closed because of the elevated lake level.
“Some Venango campsites are now affected by water levels and affected reservations have been notified via email through the reservation system. Most are primitive sites located near shoreline. If you are wondering if your campsite is affected, please check the email account that you have registered with the reservation service,” a post on the Kanopolis Lake — US Army Corps of Engineers Facebook page.
The post noted that “several accesses have been barricaded to prevent vehicles from traveling into flooded areas. Do not drive around barricades, they are placed there for your safety!”
“These closures will extend through the holiday weekend,” the post added.
