McPHERSON, Kan. –- One man is in the hospital and another in jail, following an altercation in McPherson Wednesday afternoon.
According to a news release posted on the McPherson KS Police Department Facebook page, shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday McPherson Police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of West Kansas Avenue for a report of a man walking around covered in blood. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the 33-year-old male who was suffering from a head wound. According to the release, he told the officers he had been shot in the head.
Officers determined the incident occurred in the 700 block of West Kansas Avenue and responded to the area.
Officers and detectives arrived in the 700 block of West Kansas Avenue and made contact with numerous witnesses and the suspect. Detectives were able to determine the victim did not suffer from a gunshot wound, but instead, the injuries were a result of blunt force trauma.
The victim was transported to McPherson Hospital and then transferred to a Wichita area hospital for further treatment.
Justin Huhn was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery and is being held in the McPherson County Jail, the release states.
