Loretta G. Terry of Glen Elder, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2019 at the age of 83. Loretta was born on January 31, 1936 in Mankato to the late Carl O. and Lucille (Gish) Loomis.
She was a dedicated wife and mother, and was an exceptional homemaker, a great cook, and had a great love for her church and her faith. She loved to watch sports, especially college basketball and football. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her lifelong friends every month.
She married Ray L. Terry on November 10, 1953, and had three children, Mike, Pam, and DeAnne. They were privileged to celebrate 65 years of marriage together. They traveled extensively overseas while Ray was in the Air Force. While in Turkey, they learned how to square dance, and danced for many years after retiring and moving back to Glen Elder in 1977.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, (Delores) Carol Stover.
She is survived by her husband, Ray of the home; son Michael R. Terry and wife Mona of Texas; two daughters, Pamela K. Zell of South Carolina, and DeAnne M. Fiorini and husband Peter of Wichita; six grandchildren, Ryan Zell (Kaki), Geremie Fiorini (Allisia), Brandon Zell (Nicole), Alexis Zell (fiancé, Sean), Jessica Conrow (Chris), and Morgan Terry; six great grandchildren, Hudson, Gianna, Rocco, Blake, Violet, and Krew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday, February 14 at the Glen Elder First Christian Church. Visitation will be from 1-8 PM with family present from 6-7 PM Wednesday, February 13 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Church or the American Cancer Society.
