Erma Faye Coup Yant, 90, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 in Salina. She was born February 23, 1928 on a farm in Willowdale Township in Dickinson County, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Iva (Barclay) Coup.
Growing up in the Talmage area, Erma attended local schools and graduated from Dickinson County High School, Chapman, Kansas.
In 1952 she was married to Russell Yant.
Erma was retired from the Eisenhower Center in Abilene after 20 years.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; son, Roy Yant; step-daughter, Janie Koenig; sister, Vera Luthi; three step-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Erma is survived by: three sons, Steve (Becky) Coup of Salina, Wayne (Lennis) Yant of Abilene, Bruce (Tommie) Yant of Sherwood, Arkansas; two daughters, Linda (Lonnie) Creach of Abilene, Beverly (Mark) Bergman of Lawrence; three sisters, L. Jeanne Lundin of Manhattan, Mid Hanson of Abilene, Patricia Goss of Melborne, Florida; brother John Coup of Talmage; eleven grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; twenty-five step-great-grandchildren and thirteen step-great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 5:30 – 6:30 PM Friday, December 14th, at the Danner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, December 15th, at the Danner Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Norman officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairiedale Cemetery north of Talmage. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to the Talmage Historical Society and Museum or the Elsie Brooks Memorial Cancer Fund. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas.
