Ricky Larry Gonzales

Ricky Larry Gonzales – age 32, of Holton, Kansas died Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at St. Joseph, Missouri. He was born September 27, 1985, in Hays, Kansas the son of Julian H. and Vicky (Werth) Gonzales.

He was a delivery driver for the Mission Critical Home Health Supplies of Topeka.  He was an E-6 Staff Sergeant in the Kansas National Guard and enlisted in 2003 until 2018, then reenlisted this year.  He served on two tours to Iraq and one to Hurricane Katrina.  He grew up in Victoria and Russell.  He was a 2004 graduate of Russell High School, a member of the Russell V.F.W. and attended St. Mary’s Queen of Angels Catholic Church.  He enjoyed Texas Hold’em, the military and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his mother, Vicky Gonzales, Russell, KS; his extended family, Jaydyn McCorkle, Manhattan, KS; his companion, Melanie Belshe, Holton, KS; two brothers, Nathaniel Rollett and wife, Sarah, St. Joseph, MO; Ross Gonzales and fiancée, Harley Smith, Russell, KS; one sister, Randalynn Ehrlich and husband, Bryan, Russell, KS; his grandmothers, Mary Karlin, Dallas, TX; Doris Werth, Victoria, KS; two uncles, Mark Sepeda and wife Sue, Port Orchard WA; Austin Sepeda and wife, Kari, Peoria, AZ; two aunts, Rose Rodriguez, Dallas TX; Judy VonFeldt and husband, Dale, Olathe, KS; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father; one uncle, Ricky Gonzales; one nephew, Brody Ehrlich; his grandparents, Al Karlin and Kenny Werth.

Services are at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at St. Mary’s Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Russell, Kansas.  Burial in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Russell, Kansas with military honors by the Russell V.F. W. and the Kansas National Guard.

A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Monday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary, 412 Main Street, Victoria, Kansas 67671.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary, Victoria, Kansas and from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, at St. Mary’s Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Russell, Kansas.

The family suggests memorial to the Russell V.F.W. Post No. 6240.
