Keith D. “Pete” Saunders, 87, Minneapolis, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis. Pete was born in Barnard on March 19, 1927 to Otto and Eva (Loy) Saunders.
Pete was united in marriage with Pat Beck on November 8, 1947. Pete worked various jobs including at ElDorado and the Ottawa County State Lake. He was an avid golfer.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents; wife Pat; son Mike, and grandson Tyler Vishnefske; and brother Dale Saunders.
Survivors include his children Mitch Saunders and wife Lynne; Monte Saunders and wife Marie; Shelly Vishnefske and husband John; daughter-in-law Jan Saunders; siblings Beth Holcom, Jerry Saunders, and Peggy Blanding; grandchildren Nick Saunders, Brock Saunders, Dakota Saunders, Deuce Saunders, Megan Vishnefske, Elise Vishnefske, Jenny Saunders, and Levi Saunders; and great-grandchildren Libby Vishnefske and Emma Saunders.
It was Pete’s wishes to be cremated and memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Minneapolis Golf Course and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
Helen E. Falta, 90, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 22nd, at Holiday Resort. Helen was born in Anthony, Kansas on December 28, 1923, a daughter of the late Dora Ada (Neuhauser) and Linley C. Heck. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Asbury
She attended nursing school until her marriage to Robert Falta on November 11, 1943. She completed her nursing training at Asbury School of Nursing, Receiving her R. N. She worked for many years in pediatrics.
Survivors include two daughters; Susan Gearhart of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Barbara Falta of Topeka; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister.
Cremation has been chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

David graduated from Salina High School South in 1978. He joined the U.S. Army after he graduated from high school. He was stationed in Europe for many years as a food inspector for the Army. He graduated from K-State with a degree in food science. He worked at the Great Bend Packing plant in Great Bend before retiring in Salina.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Anne Gardiner and brother, Gordon A. Gardiner Jr.
He is survived by his father, Gordon A. Gardiner; siblings, John E. Gardiner, Margery L. and husband Donald Good, Christlieb E. and wife Julie, all of Salina, Gary G. and wife Darlene, of York, S.C., and Heidi A. and husband Keith Eschliman, of Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Church of the Incarnation, 639 Max, with The Rev. Randy E. McIntosh officiating. Inurnment will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salina Animal Shelter, the Wounded Warrior Project or Church of the Incarnation, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth.
