Jarell Childs is the latest Kansas State player to join the Salina Bombers for the 2014 season. Childs, who played linebacker for the Wildcats, will join former teammates Meshak Williams, Jarard Milo and Adam Davis on the Bombers roster. All four players were starters on the 2012 Big XII Championship team from K-State.
Jarell Childs is a native of Kansas City, Missouri where he attended Oak Park High School. After a redshirt season in 2008, Childs would appear in 11 games his freshman season as a running back. Childs would make the move to linebacker and become one of the leading tacklers on the Wildcat defense.
In 2012, Jarell Childs finished 4th on the team with 66 tackles. In 13 games played, Childs would also get 2 fumble recoveries, 1 returned for a touchdown, 2 pass deflects and 2.5 sacks. After the 2012 season Childs would garner All-Big XII Honorable Mention Honors.
