Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of the annual Hook & Slice Golf Tournament in memory of John R. Bennet, scheduled for Friday, June 7th, 2024, at GreatLife Golf & Fitness.

This meaningful event pays tribute to the legacy of John Bennet, a beloved former Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina, whose unwavering dedication to our organization's mission continues to inspire us all.

The Hook & Slice Golf Tournament is a vital fundraising cornerstone for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina, with all proceeds benefiting the youth they serve. Committed to fostering mentorship and positive relationships, Big Brothers Big Sisters aims to make a lasting impact in the lives of children in the Salina community.

This year's event will offer morning and afternoon tee-time options, allowing more participants to join the fun. Participants in the tournament can anticipate a day brimming with camaraderie, friendly competition, and opportunities to give back.

The tournament entry fee encompasses green fees, carts, a bucket of range balls, a golfer gift, breakfast and lunch, drinks, snacks, and a 19th-hole social, ensuring a delightful experience both on and off the course.

"Our Hook & Slice Golf Tournament is a 4-person scramble and is a staple in the Salina Community," said Amanda Otto, CEO at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina. "This event offers a fantastic day of golf and raises crucial funds to support our one-to-one mentoring programs. Currently, the waitlist of youth in need of a mentor is 87. All proceeds from events like Hook & Slice are instrumental in creating and supporting safe mentoring relationships for area youth."

Registration for the tournament is now open, and teams are encouraged to secure their spots early.

To accommodate various preferences, participants can select between an 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. tee time. Morning tee times have a capacity of 20 teams, so early registration is recommended to guarantee participation. To keep tournament play on time, morning tee times have a capacity of 20 teams.
