Terry Wayne Camp

Hillsboro- Terry Wayne Camp died August 9, 2018 at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater, Kansas. He was born March 8, 1951, at Fort Scott, Kansas to H.V. and Lorene Camp. He graduated from Uniontown High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army in 1st Armored Division, Old Ironsides from 1971 to 1973 and was stationed in Germany. After the army, he was employed by Excel Industries in Hesston and Harvey County Highway Department.

He began farming near Sedgwick, Kansas and in 1985 moved to Hillsboro and became a Stockman and farmer there. He lived on his farm there until shortly before his death. He enjoyed traveling on the motorcycle, dancing and community service through the Hillsboro American Legion, of which he was a member. He was also active in Legion Riders, Patriot Guard, Boy’s State and a volunteer as a Veteran’s Benefit Coordinator.

He is survived by brothers Rollin (Jance) Camp, Hesston; Russell (Beth) Camp, Weatherford, OK; half-sister Nellie Miller, Wilmont Oh; Joann Downum, longtime friend and caregiver during Terry’s illness, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eddie; half-brothers Clarence, Walter, and Floyd; half-sisters Louise Eastwood, Mary Cochran and Lola Wiggans.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 Monday, August 13th, 2018 at Zeiner Funeral Home, 902 E. D. St., Hillsboro, Kansas. Interment will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kansas.

Condolences may be made online at www.zeinerfuneralhomes.com. Memorials may be made to Hillsboro American Legion, Boy’s State Fund, or Good Sheppard Hospice in care of the funeral home.
