Scattered showers and storms will be possible Friday evening and Friday night with the highest probabilities for areas along and north of Interstate 70. High rainfall rates & 50 mph downburst winds will be the main threats.
Scattered thunderstorms will develop across central Kansas Friday afternoon and spread south and east into portions of south central and southeast Kansas this evening and tonight. The strongest storms will be capable of producing isolated wind gusts over 50 mph and locally heavy rain.

Heat indices from 100 to 105 are expected over the weekend with the highest values expected along and east of interstate 135.
Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will persist through the weekend. For Monday through Wednesday, the chances for severe weather will increase with some confidence in storms being able to produce large hail and damaging winds.
