Geneva, J. Carrier, 87, passed away Sunday, June 17th in Chapman. She was born Jun 20, 1930 in Manchester, the daughter of Earl and Mary Bell (Isaac) Cramer. Growing up in the area, Geneva attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School. On December 16, 1946, she was married to Billy Dale Carrier, later divorcing. Geneva had been employed by the Duckwall store before opening and operating her Frontier Beauty Salon, retiring in 2010. She was preceded in death by: parents; four sisters, Ruth Ann, Lucille, Viola and Leona and three brothers, Eugene, Ivan and Leslie. Geneva enjoyed crafts, camping and dancing and was a life time member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by: two daughters, Kelly (Vernie) Rock of Abilene, Linda (Charles) Kolacny of Abilene; two sons, Gary (Pat) Carrier of Olathe, Terry Carrier of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and long time companion, Cam Engle of Salina.
The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, June 21st, at the Danner Funeral Home with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Keystone Cemetery north of Manchester. The family will receive friends 5:30 – 6:30 PM Wednesday, June 20th, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to the Chapman Valley Manor. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas.
