On Friday, June 15th, the contractor for the City of Salina will set up traffic control and start removal of curb and gutter and pavement at the intersection of 9th Street and Republic Avenue. Removals will begin on the eastbound lane of Republic Avenue, west of 9th Street. This work is expected to take two weeks, weather permitting.
Motorists are asked to proceed with caution when driving through the construction zone and may wish to find an alternate route.
This project is the second of three phases for this corridor and will be completed by mid-September. Phase one consisted of the removal of trees in the right of way. The third phase will be a mill and inlay of the street surface.
