Madeline Rosalee “Rose” Kern, 67, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 11:51 a.m., Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas.
Rose was born in Concordia, Kansas on June 14, 1950, a daughter of Letha Fern (Stites) and Orville Waine Foster.
Rose attended elementary school in Miltonvale, Kansas and then attended Concordia schools, Concordia, Kansas.
Through the years Rose was a bus driver for USD 418 and then became an over the road truck driver for several companies. Retiring in 2009. Rose then took the role as caretaker of one of her brothers who had terminal cancer, who passed away in late 2010.
Rose enjoyed calling her friends and talking on the phone with them, spending time with her dogs, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her brother Ron Foster, of McPherson, Kansas; her half brother Terry Foster and his wife Beth, of Russell, Kansas; her half sister Elizabeth Hedberg and her husband Frank, of Lindsborg, Kansas; her niece Melicia Evans and her husband Troy, of McPherson, Kansas; her nephew Robert Foster, of McPherson, Kansas; her aunt and uncle Jerome and Cheryl Register, of Florence, South Carolina; two nieces; five nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Letha Foster; her grandparents George and Helen Stites and her brother Robert W. Foster.
The funeral service will be held at the Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14th, 2018 with Dr. Joan Harrington officiating.
The graveside service will be at the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, Kansas at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
