2017 Weather by the numbers for Salina

2017 will go into the books as a dry and warm year for Salina according to information from the National Weather Service Wichita web site.

Salina received 25.46 inches of precipitation in 2017, a deficit of 6.4 inches from the average of 31.50. The most precipitation fell in the month of October with 5.81 inches, the least .05 in December.

No record lows were established for Salina in 2017, but there were 9 new record highs:
February 10th 76 degrees.
February 16th 79 degrees.
February 21st 81 degrees.
March 19th 92 degrees.
July 21st 110 degrees.
July 22nd 111 degrees.
November 23rd 74 degrees.
November 24th 87 degrees.
December 3rd 72 degrees.

There were 22 days in 2017 when the temperature reached on went above 100 degrees. The hottest day in 2017 was July 22nd when the high was 111 degrees.

The coldest day in 2017 was the last day when the low temperature dropped to -2 degrees.
