Rev. Harold A Emery Jr., 85, of Salina, passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017. He was born March 13, 1932, in Scranton, Penn., to Harold Sr., and Ellen (Curtis) Emery.
He attended Union College in Barbourville, Ky., for his pre-ministerial studies and later attended Philadelphia Divinity School and received a Master of Divinity. He was a teacher in Hollis, N.Y., and later a councilor and dean at St. Francis Boys Home in Bavaria and Ellsworth. He served as a priest in Jim Thorpe, Pa., Bellefonte, Pa., Latham, N.Y., Coreapolis, Pa., Clarksville, Va., and Ellsworth, (Holy Apostles). He then retired in Salina.
He is survived by: his wife, Karen Emery of Salina; sons, Peter Emery of Wichita, and Paul Emery of Ellsworth; daughter, RaeAnn Posner (Bruce) of Richardson, Texas; stepdaughters, Lynn Schwartzman and Diane Rosenhoover; granddaughter, Olivia Posner of New York, N.Y.; and sister, Lois Lichtfuss of Ellsworth.
