A 28-year-old Salina man is facing aggravated battery, rape and attempted murder charges.
Salina Police Capt. Paul Forrester said that authorities started an investigation around 2 p.m. Thursday, when a 26-year-old female checked into Salina Regional Health Center with injuries consistent with physical and sexual assault.
The victim had been strangled to the point of unconsciousness- It also appeared that abuse had been going on for “a period of time”, according to Capt. Forrester.
Officers arrested Alexander Mills at the hospital around 10 p.m. that night. He was booked into the Saline County Jail for attempted first-degree murder, rape and two counts of aggravated battery.
Capt. Forrester said that the case is still under investigation and additional charges may follow.
