The Saline-Ottawa County Bar Association is announcing a roundtable discussion on Kansas Courts featuring two former Kansas governors and current and retired Kansas Supreme Court justices. The event is open to the public and will include a discussion on the importance of the separation of powers between the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government and the non-partisan selection of judges.
The roundtable discussion starts at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd at the Fitzpatrick Auditorium in the Sams Hall of Fine Arts on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan University.
Participants in the discussion will be former Kansas governors John Carlin and Bill Graves, Chief Justice Lawton Nuss and Justice Marla Luckert of the Kansas Supreme Court and retired Kansas Supreme Court Justice Ed Larson. The moderator of the program will be local attorney Peter Johnston.
Due to the number of events occurring at Kansas Wesleyan on its Homecoming and Family Weekend, parking on campus may be limited.
