Omaha opened up the first quarter with a pair of touchdown runs from quarterback Joshua Floyd, taking an early 14-0 lead.
Salina closed out the quarter with a 3 yard run from Terrence Lowe to cut the lead to 14-6. That would also be the score at halftime. There would be no further scoring until the final period of the game.
The Liberty started the second half with the ball and went on a 15 play drive that took 11:30 off the clock. Salina managed just 26 yards on the drive and came away with no points after failing to convert on a 4th Down play.
In the 4th Quarter, Omaha wasted no time in getting back on the board when Floyd connected with Kayne Farquharson on a 17 yard touchdown pass to extend the Omaha lead to 21-6.
The Liberty answered back with a 4 yard touchdown pass from Keahn Wallace to Zach McClain, cutting the lead to 21-12.
Floyd then hooked up with Jeremiah Oates on a 22 yard touchdown pass giving the Beef a 28-12 lead.
The Liberty would score one more time as Wallace found Pelton Smalls for a 20 yard touchdown pass that brought the Liberty back to within ten, 28-18, but a late Wallace interception on a 4th Down play would seal the Liberty’s fate.
Following the turnover, Omaha ended any chance for a Salina comeback with a 23 yard touchdown pass from Floyd to Farquharson, extending the Beef lead to 35-18, which would be the final score.
Wallace was 14 of 35 passing on the night for 129 yards and 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He also ran the ball twice for 12 yards. Terrence Lowe led all Liberty rushers with 12 carries for 40 yards and 1 touchdown. Joe Kassanavoid led all Liberty receivers with 7 receptions for 74 yards. McClain and Smalls each caught a touchdown.
For Omaha, Joshua Floyd led the way offensively. He was 10 for 21 passing for 150 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 9 times for 46 yards and another 2 touchdowns.
With the loss, Salina is now 2-9 on the season. They will wrap up the 2016 season when they return home next Saturday to host the Bloomington Edge at the Salina Bicentennial Center. Kickoff for that game is set for 7:05 p.m.
