Equality Kansas of North Central invites one and all to come and enjoy the 3rd Annual Glitter Gala Musical Revue and Auction, at the Salina Community Theatre, 303 E. Iron, in the Sunflower Financial Theatre. The theme for this year’s event is To Equality and Beyond!
The event, which takes place on Saturday, March 12, offers an opening cocktail hour from 6:30-7:30 p.m., providing time to meet and greet friends, old and new. The silent auction, and open bar, will continue through cocktail hour and intermission. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.
Those familiar with the event are aware of its quality entertainment, but may not have heard of its new venue. Singers will perform a wide variety of musical repertoire, poets will do original Spoken Word pieces, and a group of professional level dancers will perform an original dance piece. Singers are Karl Beverly, Eric Cole, Jill French, Alyson Krohn, Joe McMurray, Scott Salem, and Joshua Tackett. Spoken Word artists are Emery Dierks and Avery Holmes. Dancers are Brenna Downs, Choreographer; Marnie Rhein, Cathy Norris, and Ali Schaede, with Narrators Karen Babcock Brassea and Erik Schuetz. The Glitter Gala string quartet performs both during the cocktail hour and as part of the show.
Tickets are $12 in advance, available at Ad Astra and The Market Shop Downtown, or Thiessen Elise Salon at Crawford and Ohio. Tickets at the door are $15. Proceeds go to Equality Kansas of North Central, which advocates for fair treatment of Kansas LGBT citizens.
