2395047vet_ffffffDr. Jack H. McClure, 95, Tescott, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Salina Regional Health Center. He was born October 22, 1918 in Tescott to Lloyd and Myrtle (Ivy) McClure.

Dr. McClure was a graduate of the University of Kansas and the UMKC School of Dentistry. He had adental practice in Minneapolis for many years. He was a World War II veteran – serving in the Philippines as a medic.

Dr. McClure was preceded in death by his wife, Jeri; and his brothers Mitch and Meade McClure; and great-nephew John McClure.

Survivors include his four nephews, Gilbert McClure and wife Marilyn of Kansas City, KS, Gordon McClure and wife Rosie of Tescott, Meade McClure, Jr. and wife Dee of Plano, TX, and Jack McClure and wife Lucinda of San Raphael, CA; and eight great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 1 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tescott Veterans Honor Park (in care of the Bank of Tescott) or to the donor’s choice.

Thomas Franek, 74, of Glasco, KS, died January 29, 2014 following an extended illness.

Thomas was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 15, 1939, to Pauline (Kochis) and John Franek, II.

Mr. Franek graduated from Calhan High School in Calhan, Colorado, and retired from the State of Colorado Department of Transportation in 1994.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Lola Ann Franek; children, Lyle Franek, of Alaska, Kandi Smith, of Loveland, Colorado, Dale Franek, of Fort Collins, Colorado, Kristi Franek, of Glasco, Kansas, Thomas M. Franek, II, of Beloit, Kansas, and Dusten Crichton, of Omaha, Nebraska; siblings, William J. Franek, of Berthoud, Colorado, and Margie Martinez, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; as well as 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Franek, daughter, Kethilynne Innis, and brothers Andrew, Tony Franek., and John Franek.

Cremation has been chosen and no services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd. Topeka, Kansas 66604; or to the American Heart Association, 8360 E 32nd Ct. N., Wichita, Kansas 67226.
