On Thursday, July 11, at 1:00 p.m., the nationally renowned Dennis Walters will display his amazing array of trick shots on the Salina Municipal driving range. This event is free to the public and complimentary drinks will be available. Walters’ golf show will last about an hour and it provides unique and motivating entertainment for kids and adults of all ages.
Dennis Walters was paralyzed from the waist down after a golf cart accident in 1974. Instead of becoming a recluse, Walters developed his trick-shot routine through his love of golf. He hits golf shots with the help of a swivel chair mounted on a golf cart. Walters is an inspiration to others: he said, “I’m trying to use my own personal example to show others what’s possible. I use golf because that’s what I do. I use my golf, but it’s basically a universal message and it’s a message that you should have a dream . . . I’m not talking about a dream you have at night. I’m talking about a real dream. And if that doesn’t work, get a new dream.”
Dennis Walters is from Jupiter, Florida and he does about 90 shows per year. The PGA of American has awarded him The Distinguished Service Award. In addition, Walters is a spokesman and ambassador for The First Tee.
