Nebraska’s Unwanted “Smooch” Bill Not Happening Now
A Nebraska state senator plans to withdraw his proposal to make unwanted mouth-kissing a sex crime.
Lincoln Sen. Bill Avery was scheduled to pull his bill Tuesday after questions arose about how authorities would enforce it.
The measure (LB797) would have counted mouth-kissing without consent as sexual contact for purposes of filing a sexual assault charge.
Avery said earlier this week that the bill sought to address a serious matter. He proposed it after a man approached one of his constituents while she was mowing a lawn, offered her water, and then kissed her on the lips without permission.
The female’s family members later learned that the man was a sex predator, but authorities could only charge him with disturbing the peace.

Both parties are filled with politicians who seem to have lost their minds. It’s not just a republican thing.
I dont see “republican” was even mentioned. Its a stupid bill to propose anyway.
It’s people like this that you remember when you go into the voting booth. They have no business making laws.

At least he used his lips and not something else, but it’s still gross. Maybe he should undergo lip removal surgery.
Maybe the father of the girl should just bloody the guys lips, then he won’t want to do it again.
So much for that standing at the door moment after a first date. “Can I get your legal consent to kiss you on the lips?”
Have we really come to the point we have to regulate a kiss?
Wouldn’t that be considered assault or battery even? Or am I wrong? Seems to me the guy should have his a** beat on a daily basis anyway, simply for being a “sex predator”.
