Massive Drug Bust Nets 31 Arrests In Kansas

Authorities have carried out a massive drug bust following a months-long investigation in south-central Kansas.

Officers from several agencies executed 49 arrest and search warrants in Cowley County starting around 6 a.m. Wednesday. KSNW-TV reports that 31 people were arrested and 18 more were still being sought.

Two additional people were arrested in connection with the search warrants.

The investigation was dubbed Operation Cup of Freedom, focusing on possession and distribution of painkillers, crack cocaine, marijuana, and methamphetamines.

Officials from area police and sheriffs’ departments took part in the raids along with officers from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the state Revenue Department.
